Greiner Improves EMR for 2020

Greiner Electric Successfully Lowers EMR to 0.59 in 2020

October 5, 2020

Congratulations to Team Greiner on improving our corporate EMR from 0.62 in 2019 to 0.59 for 2020!

EMR (Experience Modification Rate) considers the total number of hours worked, number of employees, number of injuries, and the severity/cost of those injuries (e.g. restricted or lost work days). The manner in which injuries are managed and the importance of keeping injured employees working (to reduce lost work days and loss of pay, etc.) are other important factors.

A good EMR rating is the result of an effective safety program and critical to winning work since general contractors look at EMR to qualify contractors during the bidding process. Some general contractors will not even look at bids from companies with an EMR higher than 0.80. Greiner Electric's EMR has steadily decreased since 2015. Our most current rating of 0.59 puts us in the position to bid any project and lets the industry know we have an effective safety program. Making sure everyone goes home safely at the end of each day is our top responsibility, so thank you all for doing your part to look out for and take care of yourselves and your colleagues.
