Project Highlights
Greiner completed all electrical work for the 7,455 SF observatory and planetarium, 25,050 SF summit building, gondola, and snowmaking machines. The project included 27 power vaults, two 800-amp pumps, one 2,000-amp panel, 200 receptacles, and 2,000 small LED lights for a mural—all completed on site rather than prefab due to limited site access. Greiner completed the three-year project on time while managing challenges such as:
  • Moving all materials via gondola, snowmobile, or narrow road
  • Navigating snowmobiles, ATVs, and UTVs on snow-covered hills and roads in blizzard conditions
  • Preventing frostbite in –20° to –30° temperatures
  • Working with a backcountry guide to learn how to maintain balance while carrying heavy tools and step carefully on snow and ice
  • Safely hiking with 20 to 30 pounds of gear and climbing trees 25 to 30 feet high to install light fixtures on trees
  • Coexisting with deer, bobcats, mountain lions, and other wildlife
The 2025 AGC Colorado ACE Awards recognized the Snow King project for delivering excellence, innovation, and impact across the industry.
